6 ways mushrooms can save the world

Ok, so you're probably reading the title and thinking WHATtheFUCK. I saw this in class today, and just had to share. I am constantly telling people that I am going to save the world, except I haven't figured out how to do it yet! But this guy (whose name is Paul Stamets btw) may actually be on to something. I never realized how fantastic mushrooms were!

I didn't know you were a student!

Unfortunately, I can't easily watch the video above. Here in the city in Brazil where I live, you can spend a hundred dollars a month and get a 1000 KBS Internet connection, or you can spend thirty dollars a month, and get something that hovers around 200 KBS. Trying to keep living expenses down, I've chosen the cheaper (in all ways) connection, but it really limits what I can do sometimes, e.g. it takes half an hour to download a Youtube of a speech by Barack Obama and it's virtually impossible to listen to it as a stream.

I'm not complaining, though. I know that if I have this technical limitation then so do a lot of other people. "Mine is not the first heartbroken, and I am not the first to cry."

I'm not in this alone, because sometimes.

Yes, I am an Environmental Studies major. This clip is worth the hour it will probably take to load (its almost 20mins long, so it will take awhile to download).
